In Memory of Joseph F. Luby '53

Joseph Francis Luby, age 86, longtime resident of Barrington and current resident of Arlington Heights, Illinois passed away at his home. Beloved husband of Frances Cecilia (Hogan) Luby with whom he enjoyed 58 years of marriage. He was born in Chicago on December 4, 1935, the son of the late Francis Edward and Agnes (FitzPatrick) Luby. Joe graduated from St. Ignatius College Prep, John Carroll University, and Northwestern University. He worked at Ameritech for more than forty years retiring in 2000 as the general manager of engineering. Joe had many passions, first and foremost his family, traveling the world, and was an avid soccer fan. Active in his community, he was an ardent supporter, past president and thirty-five-year board member of the Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Charities Board of Directors, founding member of Barrington Park District Youth Soccer Program, and past president and member of the Knights of Columbus. Devoted father of Joseph Francis (Susan) Luby Jr, Michele (Jeffrey) Long, Janet (Mark) Bonnell, and James Francis Luby. Cherished grandfather of Patrick, Katherine, Joseph, Angela and Aidan. Loving brother of Mary Agnes Luby.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 18th at 11am at St. Anne's in Barrington.
